This was a great project. It will be a particularly useful reference for my future work. You asked for suggestions for future projects. I suggest a series of individual flowers. While there are flowers in all your other projects, none are just flowers. I think a series of small individual flower projects that could ultimately be grouped together would be interesting. Just a thought.

My comments are posted in Class 18 … do you have advice for a finish to maintain the soft buttery look to the carving

Great job, Cheryl! I hope you don’t mind me posting pictures of your work.

This was a great project. I used your design principles and rules (or attempted to) and had fun with it. I have learnt so much from your classes.
I removed the wide oval background base so it lets all edges be free rather than conceal the perimeter and I prefer it that way.
Thank you Alexander. The carving community is blessed to have you teach us.

I love this project. It really pushes you to your limit and patience. I hope you will create more like this in your school. Having said that, you have got to show us how you clean up your work from a rough finish to a nice smooth clean finish. What tools you use to achieve the smooth finish from a flat to a concave to a convex. I love your school. Thank you to sharing your superpower to us.

Thank You! I will show how to clean up in another course.

Hi Alex, I loved this course. I just placed an order for some Dockyard tools. It’s so helpful when you mention the tools/materials that you use. Your information has helped me sharpen my tools from machinery to rouges. Your design comments are especially helpful.
I also would love to see a course on how you clean up a piece.
Thanks.
Beth
