The photo that Alexander uses here is a detail of the lower part of the right drop that is part of the overmantle set of carvings which surround the portrait of Charles I in the King’s Withdrawing Room at Hampton Court. You can see this photo and hundreds more inspirational photos of Gibbons work here

Bob, thank You very much for providing outstanding images of Grinling Gibbons’s work. I was also teaching a class at Marc Adams School based on another part of a drop from the same place.

Great photos. Thanks Bob

Your Grinling Gibbons class which I had with you at MASW was wonderful & I learned so much!
It was helpful to see the project that we worked on in the context of a very little section within all these amazing carvings.

Alexander, Do you have drawings for the blank cut outs?

Love your work,

Thank you, Ray Ziegler
