I love how a very sharp chisel will lead the eye to the chatoyance in the wood….beautiful.

a video series on repairing mistakes would be very helpful. (Carving mistakes, design mistakes, layout mistakes…ext.) From a simple (drop of Glue) repair to (removal of wood and re-lamination of new wood into critical area ) to (scrap the design it wont work ) to ( how to achieve the desired carving on limited tools)….i personally would like to see a short video shop tour.

Will do!

I’ve had those moments when the chip I wanted to keep flies off, and I find myself looking at it, down there on the floor, wondering if I should try to glue it back on or just forget about it and do a bit of re-design.

Depending on the circumstances, I’ve done both.

The way you blend the styles – Roccoco, Baroque, and Gibbons – is effortless on the eyes. I’m learning a lot from watching you and following how you approach the artistic side of carving.

Thank you Autumn.

I am facsinated w/ your style and your ability to start w/ say one volute and then turn it into more than one and, w/ the surrounding wood carve in several more designs that enhance the first! My weakness is in design and watching your video lesson on a typical Grabovetskiy design really helps me, especially if you add flowers to it. This week I was invited to give a show of my carvings for 7 weeks begining Jan. 30, 2020. I would love by then to have worked up a couple of pieces based upon your techniques. So, more lessons in Grabovetskiy, please!
