I have just had the Hashemi Flowers pattern enlarged to the correct size. However looking at the next stage I am at a bit of a loss at exactly which shapes need to be laminated to double or triple thicknesses. I can’t see which sections to lift the pattern off to create the new bits.

What size is the brass mallet you use? What size do you recommend in ounces or grams? I am looking at a 13 ounce brass mallet on line. It’s hard to know when you can’t hold it or try it. I have wooden mallets I turned on the my lath. But would like to get a brass mallet to hold in my hand for more control. I have had a spinal injury and have difficulty standing for extended time and would hope that a brass mallet would allow me to carve while seated? Do you always carve while standing? And do think you could carve while seated?

I use couple – one is pfeil Brass 450g (1 lb.) and 700g (1.54 pounds)— 90 percent of a time I use the smaller one.
can we start over carving the flower pattern? i checked it off by mistake.

Hashemi is the client’s last name. It is a royal and very ancient name from Asia and I decided to use it.

Hi Roy, I buy basswood from Heineckewood.com in Wisconsin. They are privately owned and wonderful to deal with. They sell pre-cut pieces and pieces custom cut.
