Wood block with such dimensions is hard to find in my area. Will this work if I join to smaller basswood boards to match dimensions? In general – Is it common practice to made joined panels when dimensions are large?
Absolutely! It will work!
I have a 12×10 board but the grain runs across the width of the board(10in side). Will this hinder the carving too much or will it just make my longer vertical cuts more difficult? I know I will have to keep my knife super stroped. 😂
