Hi Alex! Is it always better to bring the leaf down before you used the v tool to separate them or it doesn’t matter which comes first? Thanks!

To answer your question, it’s always best to bring the leaf down first before using the V-tool to separate them. This allows you to create a clean and precise cut, as the V-tool won’t have to fight against the fibers of the wood in order to make the cut.
