Don’t get frustrated I will email You jpeg image.

You make it look so easy! It is such a beautiful drawing. I will try it first free hand but I’m not making any promises!! LOl!

I’m coming from a knowledge base of traditional drawing and oil painting so I love the drawing aspect here! Does it matter what you use to draw? Are you using a pencil or pen here? Thank you for sharing your knowledge! – Christina

Love it Alexander. Keep up the great work.

I’m having problems drawing this.I have redrawn it 4 times and it looks out scale to what you have drawn.

Hi Alex,
When you are carving on the left and right angles are you trying to keep you angles consistent everywhere or do they change? How about cutting pressure?

Thanks.

Alexander Grabovetskiy (Administrator) March 29, 2024 at 6:04 pm

Certainly! When carving, I generally aim to keep the angles consistent on both the left and right sides. This consistency helps in achieving a uniform look and feel to the carving. However, there are moments when the design necessitates a change in angle. These adjustments are made to accommodate specific details or effects within the artwork.

As for cutting pressure, I also strive to maintain it at a steady level. Yet, just like with angles, the pressure might need slight alterations depending on the density of the wood I’m working with or the depth of cut I’m aiming for. The more experience you gain in carving, the more intuitive these adjustments become. You’ll start to get a natural feel for when and how to modify both angle and pressure to achieve the desired outcome.

Thank you Alex. That helps.
