I don’t know how you kept that leaf from breaking off. I would of needed to put some CA glue in the crack to keep it together. Olive wood is beautiful but it sure is hard to carve. I tried to save some olive from a tree that had died to carve and turn on my lathe. Most of it ended up splitting and cracking. I wish my band saw was bigger to have resawn it. I did end up with a nice mallet that I turned and some carved spoons.
