I’ve watched the videos and I’m wondering whether it would be more productive to use a Dremel to rough out the basic contours then switch to chisels after. Would that be acceptable?
Stephen, using a Dremel is totally fine, but let me share a few reasons why I personally don’t prefer it:
It tends to create a lot of dust.
The noise level can be a bit overwhelming.
If you’re aiming for an authentic classical look with facets, you might still need to do some cleanup with gouges. It’s kind of like the brush strokes in a beautiful piece of art!
