I like to use the higher grits or the leather/ felt buffs to hone the tools after several hours of carving.
Where as, the lower grits I use to initially shape the tools or fix dropped chisels.
That way, I am not constantly grinding down and buying new chisels

or fix dropped chisels???? Please don’t drop chisels it is not good 🙂 ✓

I shopped for a Tormek SVS-32 and Woodcraft says the SVS-38 is an upgrade over model SVS-32 so I bought that. The attachment and Work Sharp 3000 are in transit and I can’t wait to try them. I’ve got the Tormek tool rest bar you suggested on my wish list. Did you find the original rest that comes with the W.S. not satisfactory?
I’ve watched dozens of your videos and I am so glad I found your site. You are a very good teacher. I like your easy, relaxed manner. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise!

SVS-38 is the same thing, just model number changes. And color is darker:)
As far as bar. The old bar made by Worksharp is no longer available. ADN Tormek bar is way better. Here is a Video segment I filmed about 4 years ago https://schoolofwoodcarving.io/Workshops/tormek-bar-alternative-work-sharp/

Alex,

What are you using to clean the surface of the sandpaper?
