In this video you mentioned that you were considering doing a detailed series on the principles of design & then on how to draw the intended carving.
I would like to add my voice in response to this; I would be extremely interested in learning this subject in detail.
Although I have had many design classes in the past, I have never had anyone delve into it beyond the general aspects of the rule of thirds & the golden ratio. I learned more on this subject from the small amount of it that you taught within your in-person class at MASW (Marc Adams) than I have had at any other design class that I have taken.
Thank-you for your amazing teaching with your online woodcarving school. When I watch the videos I feel like I’m observing over your shoulder, a lost traditional way of learning. It also reinforces the lessons that I learned at your in-person class.
Alex,
The design course would be great. I believe that all works of art are projects. Each project is composed of two parts, artistic judgment (design/composition) and the craftsmanship skills to execute that design. Improving our artistic judgment is critical and differentiates a virtual apprenticeship from an ordinary school. I’m looking forward to a future design class.

I am definitely going to record a design course and maybe drawing for wood carving
